NBN Public servant of the week: Carol Linnett
Last week NBN was flattered that the author of this story deemed our humble website worthy of a request to publicize the plight of Alberta, Canada’s wolves. Her theory is that backers of the Alberta tar sands industry are blaming wolves for killing off the province’s diminishing caribou herds, when the real culprit is habitat destruction from the massive denuding of woodlands to mine the oil in the soil. We’re complying with Linnitt’s request this week for two reasons. One is NBN is dedicated, at every turn, to illustrating the breadth of environmental havoc the fossil fuel industry wrecks on our planet and this certainly is a stone few others have overturned. Second is NBN is just as dedicated to illustrating the wonderful works of people like Carol Linnett who could probably treble their income unleashing their considerable writing and reporting talents for less worthy causes. It keeps NBN hopeful in a world of Koch brothers and Chris Christies. Bravo Ms. Linnitt.
